What you see – Located on the second floor of Mantri Square Mall in Malleswaram, Bangalore, Ayesha Kapoor’s (known for her movie Black) store is conspicuous with its big poster of the young Bollywood star whose fashion line it stocks. There’s an array of junk jewelry in prominent colors that lures you in.
What you get – Ayesha accessories store stocks a wide range of junk jewelry in bead, white metal and more. Dominant colors include orange, deep blue, purple, white and green. Displayed along the walls of the store they add a funky, vibrant look to the interiors.
Then there are trendy slippers in similar colors (Rs. 600 for a pair) displayed beside jewelry stands. These slippers remind you of beach-side fashion and can be sported with casual clothing and bold accessories.
Ayesha also has interesting designs in hats, some drowned in shimmery sequins. These can make great fashion statements. We liked the touch of style added to simple, summer hats with scarves tied around the surface. The hand bags available here would gel well with these hats. Other interesting products include hairpins with bows, hairbands (simple mono color plastic ones for Rs. 120) and the like.
The jewelry collection at Ayesha includes bead jewelries, shell necklaces, semi-precious stone jewelries, white metal jewelries and so on. We spotted one white metal stretchable bangle; very delicate and worth a buy for Rs. 300. This one would go well with both traditional and modern wear. There’s a small collection of tribal kadas too; quite different from the rest of the collection here.
Our verdict - Ayesha is worth a visit if you’re looking for bright and colorful accessories to add a zing to your outfits. The rates are average considering it comes from a popular name. You do not need the help of an attendant to check out stuff here. Just pick up your choice of accessory, look at your reflection in the mirrors on the centre pillar and take a call. Parking space is available at Mantri Square Mall.
