Fun by the lake at Lumbini Gardens | Bangalore

What you see – The cool breeze from Nagawara Lake near Hebbal gives a refreshing welcome at Lumbini Gardens in Lumbini garden and lake, BangaloreBangalore. The garden runs parallel to the lake and has a pavement with chairs for you to relax and soak in the visual delights of the sunset, the schools of fish and the boats as they drift away.
What you get - The Lumbini Gardens stretch over 1.5 kilometers along the Nagawara Lake. There are lots of options for family entertainment here. And in terms of refreshments, there are food courts, juice points and many junk food joints here.

There is a spacious children’s play area inside the garden equipped with park equipments like slopes, swings and the like. A small amusement center with kiddy rides like Spanish bull ride, Twirling vortex, Battery cars, Toy train and Bungee Trampoline is there too. There’s also a party hall facing the lake where kids’ birthday parties can be organized. Just book the place in advance and the authorities will take care of the arrangements. The garden is quite large to hold a big crowd. Flower shows, wedding reception parties and school picnics are also held here.

Boating is fun at Lumbini Gardens.  You get pedal boats (two, four and family seaters) and motor boats here. Life jackets are compulsory to wear while boating. Boating charges start at Rs. 60 for a ride of 30 minutes. But the one that draws the crowds here is the Wave Pool with an entry charge of Rs. 100 per person for some fun in water.
Other attractions at Lumbini Gardens include a 25 foot high Buddha statue that adds an aura of tranquility to the place.  Plus it makes a beautiful backdrop for photography.

Our verdict – Water bodies can spell magic. Lumbini Gardens is such a place where you can just sit, facing the lake and unwind. It’s a great place in Bangalore for family outing, picnics or even celebrating your child's birthday. The wave pool is a must-visit for kids and adults. The place is well maintained except near the food courts where you see trash. Besides, visitors tend to litter the surrounding areas in spite of the availability of garbage cans. Entry ticket to Lumbini Gardens is Rs. 30 per person. Parking space is available.
